Has anyone tried to shim or push out the front bumper to clear for larger size tires? I get a wicked rub when I turn left and go up or down hill. I don't want to take a Saws-all to the bumper. any ideas?

I have my front bumper spaced out with 2 pieces of 1 inch square tubing (one on each side), it works alright but it looks kinda weird from the side if you know what youre looking for.

How did the bumper come off? Was there anything attached to it?

i have dealt with my bumper on numerous occasions because i have a snowplow in the front. I have a shim on each side, bout 1/2" thick. As brennan says, its sorta bumps it out a bit. with my plow frame, you cant even tell from factory look. if you are trying to go out further to keep the tires from rubbing, it mite look a little weird. what kind of spacing do you have on your rims? with your 4" susp, you should have no problems with clearing. i know some need to pull back the plastic near the doors. not sure on hitting the bumper though? go with 8" lift, should solve it. lol. j/k. thats all i got. hope it works out for ya.

16x10 wheels w/ 4 1/4 spacing. however, I like you idea. 8" lift it is! :thumbs
Pat, I have a similar lift on my X w/ same size wheels and tires, the scrubbing your getting is prolly on the plastic wheel well. I removed the lower part of mine w/ a sawzall. No more scrubbing. Check out the wheel well it will prolly have scuff marks on it.

It has rubbed through the plastic trim already, and it's down to bare metal. I did not want to use a saws-all because I don't want it to look bad and I would have to do it to both sides. It's only rubbing on the passenger side. So it has to be that the right side of the axle is more foward the than other. Here r the pics...
