Fuel guage reading pictures from cars photos on webshots

Found these pics of how to do the FPR shim and wanted to post FYI. I tried going by the article in WIKI but the pics were missing.

I only have one question about this method of using the gauge connected to the fuel bowl drain valve via 3' of 5/16" hose.....is that a air gauge or liquid (fuel) gauge? Which would you use or does it matter?...I understand that liquid does not compress and air does but wasnt sure if this would affect the readings.

A gauge used for measuring Liquid pressure. Compatible with Petroleum products.
