My 04 Excursion can run just parking and fog lamps without headlights. Not sure why it would be different on F250? I just turn the knob to the right one click and then pull out on the knob to run just p/lights & fogs and thats it. How does your switch work?

The link that 'drchris1024' provided does not have instructions for a 2001 SD. Does anyone know of a way to do this modification on an 01 model?

here's why RM, below is a list of the years that it will work on.

MODELS THAT IT DOES WORK ON

** 12/01 and Later builds of 2002 Model Year
** 2003 Model Year with 7.3 liter Powerstroke (aka the "Jace Variant")
** 2003 Model Year with 6.0 liter Powerstroke (aka the "BisonFarmer Variant")
** 2004 Model Year (F-250?) (aka the "Specularius Variant")
** 2005 Model Year (so far)

Yeah i know that is how it is on the 04 superdutys.....cause our king ranch is that way....but my 03 xlt is not....you have to turn 2 clicks right then pull out....it won't let you pull out after the first click....which is what i want....

Here is the MOD you are looking for STEVE RACER FOG LIGHT MOD Also allows fogs light to be on when HI-beams are on.

On my 2001 it was even easier. Hope this helps.

yeah that is the one i remember but its not exactly what im looking for(from what i can tell)....even though if i can find a way to do what i want i will have that also....which is cool:thumbs thanks

as i recall the LIMIT on the switch has something to do w/ a
ramp clear bit of plastic (i dont recall if the ramp is accessable
externally to the switch or if the plastic ramp/limiter is inside
the switch).

the plastic stop (ramp/limit <- what ever you wanna call it)
needs to be trimmed so that you can pull the switch out

Yes you need to trim the switch a little for it to work on the 01.

Dremel tool will make quick work of that.:thumbs

Now if I can remember the rest of the stuff to finish it.:dunno :D
