Well the fans have been on for 2 days now.
Installing them was easy but it was time consuming since it really is a one man job. It took about four hours to get everything in running and all the wires loomed and tucked away. When I finally got them running there was a rubbing sound when they cut on from the bottom fan, and after a little shimming and adjusting it the noise went away.
These things really give the truck some ass off the line, and the torque is amazing. I am running an 5 inch intake an tunner set at the 80hp setting and the power off the line was double. The motor is able to spin up sooo much faster.
Well after running it down the street and monitering the engine temp and trany temp I pulled back into the shop and noticed that the truck was blowing hot air out of the front. Come to find out Flex-a-lite wired the things backwards between the VSC and the fan motors. After consulting flex-a-lite I cut their factory conections and reversed the polarity which made the fans run great except for the fact that the fans were now pulling themselves closer to the shroud which made the rubbing come back.
This resulted in an hour of trial and error by taking the lower fan blade off then bending the motor bracket ever so slightly then starting over untill we got them spining freely and level.
So in the end the motors were wired backwards, and the lower fan bracked was not square with the fan shroud. So if you go with this kit make sure to check the factory wiring and the tension on the fans, just be carfull spinning the fans because they are shap as **** and my hands are all cut up. I would do it again in a heartbeat, and I figure it is not bad problems for a very new product.
I am waiting to run a couple of tanks of fuel through it to see if I actually get a 1-2 mpg increase. I will keep everyone informed.
