Now that we are past Labor Day, camping season here in Da U.P. is winding down, as well as things at work. Even though we are busier (proportionately speaking) than our larger store in Escanaba, folks at our store started getting laid off today. One of them was a gal that worked with us in the parts dept.

On top of that, her husband has been on workman's comp for many months. He hurt his shoulder at work and just found out yesterday he has to get yet another shoulder surgery in yet another attempt to fix it. The recovery time is supposedly something like two years.

So if that wasn't all bad enough, like I said she got laid off today. I'm going to miss her. We kinda leaned on eachother for moral support when all the B.S. got rather overwhelming. We could always depend on the other for a much needed laugh whenever it was needed the most. Tomorrow, I don't think I'm going to look forward to work like as much as before. Co-workers like her don't come along very often.

TG, sorry to hear about the layoffs, but unfortunately that's the nature of the business. Hope she and her hubby turn out okay. Hopefully when the re-hires start next spring, she'll be back.

I think I will be at that. There are only two of us left in the parts dept. My co-worker has some medical issues that make it hard to work and impossible to pay his medical bills. He needs to go on disability and concentrate on getting his health back. If he does go on disability, his mounting medical bills will get paid. So keeping all this in mind, he plans on taking the next lay-off, leaving me the last parts RV guy in town, or in an entire 4 county area at least.

The store will likely stay open much longer than last season thanks to the severe hail-storm last June. We have a S*** load of hail damage repairs that'll keep us busy until about mid Dec. Somebody has to be around to order all the parts the service dept needs to fix all those RV's.

That maybe a definate option IN A FEW YEARS.
