F250 Integrated Brake Controller Pulsates

I bought a 2006 F250 PSD to pull 2 different trailers. One is a 27' travel trailer and the integrated brake controller has proved to be the best thing since sliced bread. But then I bought a 39' 5ver and suddenly I'm getting a rather violent pulsating when I apply the brakes while pulling it.

Any ideas?

I've seen other posts with vague references to issues with hydro/elec brakes (5ver has these) but none of those posts are comprehensive enough to determine if that applies to my truck, year, model, etc.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. It's a little scary pulling 14k and having the brakes doing that.

well a 250 pulling a 39" fver, bet a nickle your overweight for the trucks gcvwr
for grins what teh fiver weigh empty and gvwr :dunno
but if they are pulsing an you have elctro over hyd brakes on teh rv, take the truck back to ford, its a software glitch, should have been fixed already but maybe not.
the IBC is supposed to run elctro or hyd.
go see teh dealer and let em fix it :sweet

I'm not sure I understand the electro-hyrdo slang here. But would sure like some ideas to fix! :dunno

I get this in my '02 SD CC occassionally without any load! No evidence, but I think rotors are "warped". Sometimes, the problem is pretty severe...then it levels out. I'll clean out the gunk in rotors, especially rear end, every oil change and that seems to settle it out for a spell.

elctro-hyd is a system for braking whereby an electric motor turns a hyd pump which inturns provided hyd pressure to teh trailers brakes, usually a disc set up.
they are faster and smoother than conventional electric drums,
however the small pulse that is inherent in most brake controllers to sense if the pigtail is still plugged in is enough to trigger the elec motor to kick on and off thinking you are applying the brakes, so it applies the brakes in a rapid fashion causing jerking or pulsation,
brakesmart and a few others have fixes for it as does ford, but it may take a software update from the dealer to completely fix it, plus bring your trailer with you to ford

the ford IBC was supposed to in 05 be completely compatable, but it wasnt it software wise so depending on the build date of the IBC or some lines of code it may or may not work correctly until the trucks software has been updated.
