Howdy All,
Gutted the kitty and muffler yesterday........Oh myyyyy gooooooooodnessssss. What a beautiful sound. Especially when accelerating or shutting down and hearing that turbo whirl/whine away (best Homer Simpson "huhhhhhhhhh" with tongue hanging out of corner of mouth). I just went with a 6' x 3" straight pipe it ran me $31.42. I went with 3" beacuse I that is what the flange was from the catalytic converter. Any thoughts on my set up (length or diameter)?
Hard to tell whether or not I got better mileage but just watching the fuel guage I would say that I picked some/a mpg up. On the way up to Kansas I got 19.9 (20 mpg) with the exhaust still intact.
Does anyone have the deminsions for the 4 bolts that hold the pulley onto the water pump and the size of the clutch fan bolt? I am trying to make my own fan clutch tool kit. I was going to take the fan off for the trip but held off because of the tool needed to put it back on.
I have an electrical question but will post that seperately.
See ya'

You can put the fan on by hand and the rotation of the engine & waterpump will tighten the fan but you will need the tools to remove it when the time comes again especially if the fan clutch has kicked in.
