Adding a aftermarket downpipe really opens up the exhaust. Take a look at your stock pipe and you will see that it is about flat and very restrictive.

I don't know what the fines are for tampering with emission equipment but I have heard they are not cheap.

i made a DIY 4" cat back exhaust like 8 months ago or so and even though i used an exhaust system off my brother's truck it still wasn't easy at all. the exhaust i used was off of a dodge and didn't quite have the right bends and making the 4" go down to the 3.5" stock pipe was very time consuming since all i could use was a cutting torch and a hammer. i would suggest just buying an exhaust over making one, but if you have the tools to make one then it would be a lot easier. IDK what parts you would have to get though.

I consider myself a proficient welder/fabber, but am look for an exhaust kit. I have a truck lift, mig and tig welders, and most every cutting tool out there. I don't consider making my own exhaust to be a bargain.

First of all, you would need to order a downpipe from somebody. Then you need a fitting to go to 5 inch, and then you need pipe and elbows. Custom bends can be made by bandsawing 90° elbows into different angles. Then weld it all up. Then make hangers. Doable, but not cheap and fast either.

any nobody know any info

I made a driveway DIY custom 5" exhaust on my 95 with a 30 year old ARCO stick welder in my garage on a 30* Feb day. This is of course with a 3" DP supplied by DPPI. The rest of the components came from Airflow. If you have some time and some ingenuity then I say get after it.
