The right front (Outter) side of the tire has more wear than any other tire. When I have the race trailer hooked up (approx. 5000#) there is also a clunking noise in the front end when I turn the wheel sharp (like backing up in the driveway & such). I cant tell what should be replaced. I got a feeling what to replace but want your expert opinion before replacing the entire front end.
Thanks

sounds like you need balljoints.jack the frontup and grab the top and bottom of the tire and seeif you can move it in/out or side/side.

I'd bet you need balljoints and prob are due for axle pivot bushings as well.

To save yourself money and headache down the road you have 2 real options right now 1 replace axle with a D60 (preferrably w/ new steering, bearings, balljoints)
or replace EVERY bushing and pivot point in the front end.

The axle pivot bushings are the rubber picot busings where the twin beam axles mount to the truck underneath. Mount at the bushings near the middle and to the tleaf springs on the outside.

D60 means Dana 60, a solid axle that's in all the one ton trucks in our body style and a lot of others. If you can find one out of our body style they will bolt right in.
