Last night the wife and I ran a rental movie back after I got off work and on the way home I swung by a dealership to check out any trucks they might have as I'm looking for a 7.3L F-350 Dually. We were driving around the dealership just browsing and getting in and out of the car to check out the trucks we saw (no duallies). After I was done I went to leave and all the entrance gates were shut , chained, and locked.

It was a very confusing moment for a while as I kept driving around trying to find some way out and then figured out I couldn't get out. We ended up calling one of her friends as we don't know the number for the police down here because I live on base and didn't think i ever needed the off base police number. Her friend ended up calling the police for us and they sent the dealership folk who "promptly" (45 minutes or so) showed up with keys to let us out. Only to find the gentleman who showed up didn't have a key that worked on any of the gate locks. 10 minutes later and two more people I finally got my car out. LOL.

The wife is over there now on her lunch break trying to use it as leverage to get a nice deal on a truck. Hopefully it works out. I just think the whole things funny because the gates are to keep people out, but served the opposite function.

That's all I got, figured I'd share and maybe someone will get a chuckle.

I saw the thread title and thought the sales manager pulled the old "stand in front of you car so you can't leave until you buy something" routine!!

I only had to do that once when I was selling cars, and she had already bought the car. Her down payment check bounced like a bouncy ball and we were repo'ing the car. It was pretty funny.
