Well, the little yellow engine light is on. I'm assumming it's an overboost code since my recent HP upgrades, but not positve. So I guess I'm going to have to get a code reader. Any suggestions on a reasonably priced reader that will read, define and clear codes?

Thanks.

I have a basic EQUUS, that reads P0 and P1 codes, clears, comes with book giving basic explanation of the code(s) set.
About $160, no doubt there are others out there.
Make certain they read P1, super cheapies only reead P0.

Wasn't AutoZone one of the places that could read and clear codes or was it just read em? Aside that I'm also looking at an EQUUS unit as a future purchase.

Autozone can't read all our codes I believe. I've gone to them and they didn't pick up the ICP code I sometimes get in the "hot" settings, the Evo does but can't read any codes stored in the IDM.

Hey guys, thanks for all the help. I'm getting the Diablo Pred. that powerboater had for sale in the marketplace. I talked to Jody and he said it is good code reader plus it has some diagnostic features I can play with also. I also told my Dad if he gets some gauges I will let him have the HP programs.

As far as the light, I just disconnected the batts. and got rid of it for now. I have a BVR+ but have not put it in yet. I wanted to see if it would set the code first.

Thats what I was going to suggest, I ended up buying a superchip programmer just for the code reader ;) . Guess I shouldn't have sold the old one :dunno . Its kind of fun letting people use the HP programs and then taking it away a few days later :thanks  , they look like you just kicked there dog :cussing: :roflmao !!

for the best code reader/anylizer go to www.autotap.com and check out there soft ware you can either use a lap top or a palm pilot for $250 you can use it on ford, chevy and dodge and for about $100 you can buy just ford i use it to tune and trouble shoot with in my personal shop. best diagnostic tool you can buy in my opinion.

I have the superchips as well. It's kind of handy.I had to replace my throttle sensor and the Tuner detected the problem before I did. I just happened to try it one and the code showed several times before I actually had a problem with it.
