My question is when you delete the ebpv do you remove the piston assembly from the turbo pedestal or do you cut off the rod.If you cut off the rod how much do you cut off so it doesn't hit the plug that you put in the end where the rod went through. HELP

There are a few possibilities.
1) Remove the actuator arm from the bottom of the EBPV and tie open with wire the EBPV flap. Let the arm just hang there.

2)Contact Rick H. He sells a turbo pedestal that deletes the actuator arm. He will want your core in exchange.

3)Cut it off like you suggest but still tie open the EBPV flap with wire.

Many notice a small oil leak where the actuator arm connects to the pedestal. It's really no big deal. Only replacing the pedestal with Rick's pedestal arm delete will stop the leak without you fixing it yourself.

I cut my rod and then tapped and plugged the hole in the pedestal. Once you get things apart you'll see where the rod had worn from movement. I cut behind that.

^What he said. It's said that if you just take out the plunger oil pressure in the pedistal never builds and starves the turbo of oil. From when I did mine, I agree. Unless you weld up the oil ports going to the EBPV plunger cavity.

I pulled my plunger/piston out of the pedestal completely, tapped it and plugged it. Drove it like that for 40,000 miles with no lubrication problems.

But I've also been told that I also got real lucky on a tranny build too. I'm off to buy lottery tickets now.
