what is the best way to tell someone over the phone if they have the e4od or 4r/100

What year is the truck? 99 to 03 used 4r100 - 97 and down E40D was an option along with the C6 and the Manual.

its an 97 ,the reason i ask is some sites state 97 was a change to the 4r/100. the person i am working with i think someone had to tell him( its a truck)

97 was the last year for an E40D in the F250/350/SD series - Last of the OBS Fords - The C6 was my favorite, Took longer to get going and didn't have the extra gear But, held up alot better.
