ok so i have started to get a little crazy with the CB radio.i have an east coast 2 pill amp comeing that draws a constant 30 amps.specs can be seen here, http://www.eastcoastproducts.net/pricelist.htm .its the 2pill 2x2879 with fan for 170.00.been thinkin about upgradeing to one of the 5 pills wich draw a constant 75 amps or the 6 pill that draws a constant 90 amps sometime in the future.

i would like to run a dual alternator setup.i was thinkin about getting the ambulance alternator and have it dedicated to the CB amps.was gonna run 2 more batteries just for the amp/si would like to get the full constant 20 volts to the amps as well(not sure how to do that yet).any ideas on how to mount a second alternator?i havent looked under the hood yet to see where it may fit and how i could do it.

whats the highest amperage alternator i can buy for the truck?something that will handles the trucks stock power needs plus the air compressor, electric fuel pumptranny cooler fan,and 1700 watt stereo system and still have enough for the CB equiptment?

Most high amp alternators that I have dealt with had the life expectancy of a mosquito. I would recommend a dual alternator setup with lower amperage per unit.

When I converted my truck I upgraded from the stock 130 amp alternator to THIS 200 amp direct bolt up alternator because my WVO 12v heater draws many amps. It comes with a smaller pulley to raise the rpms and they suggest getting from them a 4 gauge charge wire to connect from the alternator to a + battery terminal. This ebay seller is tops in my book.

im thinking duals.1 idea i have is that i can make 3 plates.2 of the plates will have 4 holes drilled in it.one under the stock alt. and the othe on top where the 2 bolts go through it.the 3rd will go under the single bolt hole on the stock alt. to make sure it rises evenly.then flip the second alt. upside down so that the double bolt holes wil be sandiched between the 2 plates.run 2 bolts and nuts through it.then make a a braket to come off the single bolt hole to the block somewhere so that it wont flex.
