Driver side, in front of battery, hyraulic lines?

What are they? They're covered with a bit of rubber mating and run into a block just behind the headlamp assy.

are you looking at the at the power steering cooler lines? trace the lines further back, are there disconnects? then they are the fuel lines. fuel will have a black or blue plastic jacket. its too cold to go out and look right now.

trans cooler lines come down the passenger side of the frame and curl into the valence under the bumper and radiator.

I think what you are looking at is the anti-lock brake valve pack and pump motor. If it is a sizable aluminum block than that is it.
