I have a 2008 FX4 with 4k miles. What are the pros and cns of removing the DPF?

Pro's: Better mileage, sounds better
Con's: Potential voided warranty, Federal offense to tamper with ANY emissions part, Trouble codes (Unless you buy a programmer)
It's been done by a lot of guys, who seem to really like the results, but in my opinion, I like having a warranty......

thats about it in a nutshell. while the truck is still under warranty it will be a PITA to keep reinstalling the dpf and putting the factory software back in every time you need to bring it to the dealer for a check engine light.

i would just wait on dpf removal till warranty is up they have clean tunes on certain programmers like rbp which is made by ppe works great trucks regen process is the same no change 115hp tune and some 5 inch behind that dpf should hold you off tilll warranty is up i mean i didnt buy the truck for mpg .
