Hello all, hope you can help me out here. I have a 2000 f350 and my hpop lines started leaking and it turns out the threads striped out of the hpop. So now i'm faced with that task of either removing the pump and trying to retap the treads or just r&r the pump for a new one. The job looks kinda difficult and not exactly sure what i'm getting into. How many of you guys have done it and is it that hard? Any websites that take you through a step by step process? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Travis

Welcome to SDD!

I just removed mine to install a Stealth pump system.

Here's the short version...

Disconnect batteries, remove all intercooler pipes and aluminum "Y" off the turbo. Drain filter housing, disconnect fuel supply and return lines, will probably have to replace o-rings. Remove filter housing, bolts are on the front of the reservoir. You'll need to remove the EBP sensor to get one of the bolts out. Now's a good time to disconnect other electrical connections like IPR and EOT sensor. Next remove HPOP lines with a disconnect tool, got mine from CAT(part # 180-0186.) Now drain the reservoir through the allen head plug on top using a suction device with a small hose to go in the hole, remove reservoir once drained. After that the HPOP gear bolt cover needs to be removed, it's just behind the heater hose nipple on the WP. The HPOP gear bolt is an 18MM and is torqued to 95ft/lbs. Once the bolts gone pull the gear out. Now loosen the 2 HPOP bolts that are towards the back of the pump, using a 10MM socket, 6-point recommended. Then slide the pump out towards the back of the vehicle.

It's not as easy as I thought it was going to be.
