Digital video cameras?

Does anyone have a new digital video camera with the harddrive? I have looked at several but would like some first hand experience input. Im thinking I should get one soon while the kids are small.

Last I looked, about a year ago, they were in the $7-800 range. What do y'all think?

I have a video camera and never use it. I use the movie feature of my digital still camera all of the time.
