Had leak in fuel drain. Decided to rebuild the fuel bowl myself via O-rings kit. Did it all on bench, taking proper care in reassembly. Installed FPR kit w Gold spring (62-65 psi), Took care to install spring properly. Replaced the sleeve O-ring provided in the FPR kit, Did not replace the seat part of the valve, but reinstalled old one, it looked ok. I replaced all of the O-rings except the ones inside the body of the bowl behind the brass fuel fittings. Saw no reason to disturb them. Replaced the O-ring seals on the fuel lines 4 in all. To get to the problem, it is leaking around the cap O-ring. It started leaking as soon as I started the engine, all around the fuel bowl cap. It was a new filter and cap combo. Put the old filter and cap on same thing. Cannot tell if it is leaking anywhere else so much fuelis coming out around the bowl cap. Drained the bowl and took filter out. Tried to push the FPR valve off of the seat from inside the bowl, moved about an 8th on an inch off seat. Also removed check from bowl to make sure assembled right.
How much pressure should the cap take before leaking, and how tight does it need to be?
Not looking forward to taking the fuel bowl out again. Help!!!
