In a van down by the river...
I'm at the USO in Denver right now and while it's not completely a zoo, it's a lot busier than I would have expected (took ~ 1 1/4 hours to clear security). My plane doesn't leave until 0620 tomorrow morning, so I'll have to buy some suitable aenesthetic at the airport bar (I have a feeling that it'll be an expensive evening) and then find a clear patch of floor to crash on (the USO closes at 8 pm).

Parking was "interesting" since the main airport-run/offsite lot I normally use is only ~ 1/2 cleared so I had to park in the waaaaaaay far away, but still airport-run, lot. I feel sorry for the folks who don't know about it and get suckered into paying $30/day to park right next to the terminal. Driving down here was no problem (cc set at 80 mph, road was clean and dry) but later on when some of the wet spots re-freeze, things might get a little more sporty and I'm happy I came down when I did.

I actually haven't had any yet. The volunteer I asked said they "might" be staying open all night since some folks don't have a confirmed flight out yet and if they do stay open, I'll snooze here vs. on the floor somewhere out in the terminal. The recliners they have are VERY comfortable (I inadvertantly napped already) so I'd have no problem catching a few Z's here. This is actually a very nice facility and if you are passing through DIA and have the time, it's worth visiting. :sweet

The USO...one of the few perks that a military man or woman gets at a crowded airport. The Delta Crown Room it ain't, but is sure beats sleeping on a cold terminal floor. And there are no dues other than signing your life away to kill a Commie for Mommie!:D
