Dead fender marker lamps! Fuse??

My rear fender marker lamps are all dead. All 4 of them! The triple light over the rear bumper is also dead. Is there a fuse for these? I looked through my owner's manual as well as the little guide inside the fuse block cover to no avail.

These were working fine and I haven't done anything electrical to my truck (1996 F350 DRW) at all so I don't have a clue as to why they all died at once.

Ideas? Answers? Correct Answers??

Thanks!

Are your front marker lights and cab clearance lights on? If they are then you might have a broken wire along the frame rail. I'm pretty sure they are all on the same circuit.

The fender, license plate and marker light are probably tied into the tail lights, via a connector plug, near the end of the wire loom, under the last frame cross member, near your spare tire.

Mine are anyway... on my 2K :dunno

Joe

If you have Tail lights.. then you have a bad connection After the connector. Prolly a bad ground .. been my experiences.

My cab markers and clearance lights are working fine. That's why this has me baffled. My tail/brake/turn signals are also working properly. I'll look for that connector tomorrow.

They get their power via underhood fuse #4 (Trailer/Marker Lamps) through the Trailer/Marker Lamps Relay (also in the underhood box). Check those first. Cheers!

They get their power via underhood fuse #4 (Trailer/Marker Lamps) through the Trailer/Marker Lamps Relay.

That #4 fuse was blown. Looked around before I replaced it and found that the wires to one of the marker lamps had been ripped loose. I guess with all the snow/rain we've been having that it somehow grounded out and popped the fuse. I clipped and taped the ends of the loose wire. The remaining 3 lights are working fine now.

Thanks to all for the help!

Now I'm looking for a good source to replace these 4 marker lights as my manual says the bulbs aren't replaceable. It actually says the markers must be replaced as an assembly as the markers are sealed.

On mine, the lamps are a sealed unit that can be replaced. The chrome bezel doesn't have to be replaced. Mine are "TruckLite Model 15's". If you look around, you can find just the lamp which is cheaper than buying the whole assembly. NAPA also sells the TruckLite Model 15 with the chrome bezel. NAPA part number for the red one is 15200R1 (the yellow should be 15200Y1). Cheers!
