Hey there,

Looking to get a dash mat, want something that fits like it belongs, doesn't look cheap and cheesy and stays in place. Anyone have any recommendations or comments on brands to consider or to stay away from?

Thanks.

Thanks for the reply. The Dashmat ones look good, just wish there were good pics to to get a better idea of how they look. I see you are from Richardson. I get to travel down there every once in awhile to attend Nortel meeting or conferences. I usually have a good time there. I love the Texas BBQ.

Pardon my ignorance, why do you want these things? Is it to protect the dash from sun damage or attract lint or ?

Seriously, I've yet to figure it out on my own so it's time to 'fess up!

I've purchased Dashmats for the main reason of reducing dash glare against the inside of the windshield especially when the sun is kicking down hard.

The Dashmat also protects the dash from premature discoloration, separation and cracking.

I had one made for my International 4700 and 4900 trucks back in the day,the clients now and then would comment on the nice touch inside my trucks which show abit more class than my competitors:sweet

we have had them in our Peterbilts, and if you know truck drivers, they throw everything on the dash.

they help to keep all that stuff from sliding around, protect the dash from the sun, plus they look good.

now all that said, i do like the looks of them in the big rigs, better than my truck, so personally, i would want one in my SD.

i did have one in an '82 camaro i had along time ago, mainly because the dash had already cracked in a few places, and it was a cheap alternative to a new dash.

Thanks guys. I assume it was a functional thing, but have never seen one.
