Coolant Filter

I was looking at the water pump the other day and noticed a plug on the drivers side of the pump. Can you use this spot to put a coolant filter in? I was thinking take the plug out, route it to the filter, then to the hose to the coolant tank line. Does this sound right?

That should work. I don't see any reason that it won't. I did mine differently, but...
