I have the electric shift on the fly T-case, and whenever I have to use 4wheel drive, it takes about 3 days for the motor to switch back to 2wd. Have any of you ever heard of someone adapting these to a manual shift. I don't have a problem cutting the floor for the shifter, I think it would be cheaper than a replacement motor.(Those things are EXPENSIVE)

they are not easily adaptable to manual because the shift motor moves around 270° from 2hi to 4lo on an axis that is perpendicular to the frame rails.

I will suggest trying to trouble shoot the problem and figure out why it is not shifting when you change the switch. The most common problem with the ESOF is the motor on the transfer case Here is a good writeup on how to fix the most common problem with the motor.

Thanks Brandon, I didn't realize that motor would be that easy to take apart. I have the Dynatrac free spin conversion, and I don't use 4wd as often as I would really like, but winter will be here soon and 3-4 days of feeling the front-end spinning untill the motor decides to do to put me back in 2wheel is very annoying. I'll keep you posted on what I find.

I will say that that writeup is for a ranger but to the best of my knowledge the motors are the same.
