hey to all you stroker heads in stroker land. my concern with shimming the FPR to increase fuel pressure is that if you increase the pressure to the injectors, does that mean i will have unburnt fuel in hte pistons? Engines are meant to run as lean as possible without burning uup the pistons. and then why wouldnt the manufactuerer set the P.S.I. at 60-65 to begin with. im perplexed and all you in diesel land have such great advice. thank you. doug

The issue is ford changed it to a lower pressure. International has there trucks set at 65 or so. Your truck is at around 55-60 some are more some are less. Your not going to inject anymore fuel unless the PCM asks for it. What you will get is better fuel atomization and a smother idle. My truck is shimmed to 70 but at WOT it will drop to 65-62. If I didn't have it shimmed where would it be?

The procedure for the shimming is for a pre 99.5 7.3, is it the same for newer? I didn't see a schrader type valve on my fpr. maybe I have to look better. going out now.

There is a connection on the top right hand side of the fuel bowl. No Schrader valve that I know of.
