Well, finally got fed up with our dial-up. Had HughesNet installed, (cannot get anything else, live on 5 acres 10 miles out of town), and I just got finished installing a new wireless router. Now my notebook can travel around instead of being plugged in the phone line in the kitchen. :sweet

No more kids tripping on the line, no more dog unplugging me, and when you think of it, no more missing of information on chat night when I have had a few and need to go to the restroom. :roflmao

I'll try and remember to input the flush. :sly

I'm on the Wireless too. 'bout 2 weeks now. I like it.

I'm in the design stages of building a Laptop station in our 5r. Got a seldom used, outa the way area. So far, So good.

Think a Wireless Laptop will come in handy when we RV.

Wireless is a good system, really "runs circles around" dialup whic sucks bigtime. We once had DirecWay (predecessor of HughesNet), but could not use it with PCAnywhere. We eventually went with an actual wireless company that's now part of Internet America, and it's costing about $20.00 per month less than DirecWay. I still have the big satellite dish on my roof, plus the boxes inside, but it's been disconnected for several years now. I had a neighbor ask about that big dish. I should have told him it was a secret spy system. Congrats on your new wireless sytem, you'll really love it!!

Big Blue is now THE satellite internet provider. I have used it and it is fast, but with long return times due to the distances involved. You wait for a second or two, and then you get your data.
