If I were to mount a 5-gallon air tank under the body of my truck, can anyone think of a reason (DOT, safety, etc...) not to have the tank sprayed with bedliner material? I figure that would help protect the tank from road salt/spray/rock chips/etc and that might help it last longer.:dunno

Paint that sucker. LOL. No kidding, I can't think of any thing that it would hurt.

as far as any DOT requirements, i dont think that there are any. so, as far as it being illegal, i would say no.

so you could spray or dont spray.

i have a 5gal. mounted on the outside of the frame under the rear pass. door, and it has had no problems with road debris.
