Clockspring and AIC?

If my clockspring has gone bad, can anyone think of a reason that would cause the AIC to quit working? The display on the AIC still shows engine RPM's, but it won't work to raise idle speed. I suspect the clockspring is broken since my cruise has gone T-U (buttons on the steering wheel light up but CC won't engage), but I've got no idea how that would interconnect with the AIC.

jv it mght be reading the cruise no worky as a fault or safety that prevents idle ramp up. it may think your trying to set cruise do to a missing sense voltage or not or something along those lines,


my SEIC (aic) has a bunch of built in safeties, e brake on, engine oil and coolant the right temp, prndl lever in park, stabilized idle,
