I purchased my 2008 SD FX4 with standard climate control (the three turn knobs) and would like to upgrade to the digital unit with exterior temp. If I found a module, would it plug into the wiring harness with no issues? Is that even possible?

Also, looking to upgrade the to a steering wheel with radio controls and putting in a factory navigation unit. Is that possible?

I don't think so.. the digital unit is automatic and you'd need a climate control module and the correct wiring harness...

THIS WOULD NOT BE COST-EFFECTIVE

now the steering wheel, on the other hand... might be do-able.

The climate control has 3 remote sensors that are not standard in installation. If you pulled the three knob unit out I dont believe you will see a wiring harness to plug it into. This is psudo educated guess, no certain fact.

I can verify Frankensteins advise, the conversion is dare I say nearly impossible. My buddy who owns a newer Ford was looking at this and we determend that it was not an option. Hell you don't want that, that's the kind of crap they put in chevys to make them seem cool.
