I would like to hear different opinions on using cj-4 and ulsd in an 06, think this will keep the internals a bit cleaner, or is this just a goverment thin g?
What is it you want to know exactly? The oil debates can get pretty crazy depending on what forum you are on. Thak fully people keep it civil around here
Just been reading about the new oil along with the new fuel and was wondering what everyone thought. Seems like it may be better and cleaner for the internals of the motor, like preventing things from sticking that normally stick.
The CJ-4 (or Low Ash) oils are suppose to be a much better oil, lubricating and protection, than what we have now. The only CJ-4 I have seen on the shelves yet is Rotella, and I'm not a Rotella fan, so I haven't tried it. It's also supposed to make it to 10k miles before a change is needed on just plan dino oil.
The mobil devlac 1300 is CJ-4 compliant.
I found 6 gallon bottles on the shelf at autozone. 4 were cj-4 the other 2 were not.
I guess they updated to the new specs.
I noticed that Rotella Synthetic was about $20 a gallon at Tractor Supply. Dummy me forgot to look and see if it was CJ-compliant to account for the price increase.
