I bought this truck and Ive been looking at it and Im wondering if its been chipped.. Heres some of the add ons that Ive found on the truck, it has: a full Borla 4 inch exhaust, Turbo down tube (dont know brand but its big) and Im not sure if the Turbo is after market or not, its a Gerrett (sp?)... The truck doesnt bellow or smoke, only lets a puff of whitish/grayish smoke when you first start it up on a cold morning.. Im not seeing any extra power packs or any switches in the cab, So can it just be a plug and play chip that readjusts the computer settings by plugging into the OBD and then it disconnects when done, and how can you tell? It cant spin the tires, but off course I havent tried either (dont want to check on that big of a truck) The truck is a hair bit sluggish until the turbo spools up then it takes off like a bat out of hell

Its a 97 F350 CC, long bed Dually with the 7.3L, Auto tranny, 2wd

Garrett is the stock hair dryer on our rigs, you can pull the e-brake assy and see the back of the PCM and you will be able to see if a chip is installed on the board. It will be sticking out the back of the PCM housing looking you in the face. Now if someone downloaded a program onto the PCM with one of the plug and play modules and didnt take it off before you got your hands on it, that would be tough to tell but from what you describe, Im leaning towards your truck being stock except for the exhaust.

Thats what I was thinking but I just wasnt sure, when ever it stops raining I will tear into it and look, there is a hole about 1 inch in the lower part of the dash that looked like it would hold a Power modual and selector or it could have been an accesory switch

Just an add on to make it easier for ya...Th ebrake assembly comes off with 3-13mm nuts...then slide right off. Sounds like a stock setup to me too.

Good Luck,

I never got around to looking at that, I had a bigger issue to deal with.. My Vacuum pump blew up on me on the way home from work, The back access panel that had a bolt holding it on blew off, that bearing was toasted and tore all to hell.. I got it replaced and then the neighbors said they were going to go and pick up there boat and they were going to use there brand New AWD Minivan, Ya I used the truck to go and pick it up for them.. And off course its getting dark now so Im not about to tear into it... Im pretty sure its not chipped anyways, I think I would be able to notice that extra power

if youve never driven one of these trucks that was bone stock you wouldnt notice the extra power from certain chips and tuner programs.not all programs make it smoke either.but you most likely dont have a chip in it.but if you let us hold your wallet or check book for 5 minutes you will have a chip :D :burnit

There are ALOT of things out there better than Bank and Bully Dog IMO. Although if you watch "Trucks" on powerblock...A quick trip to Bully Dog outta get you over 880 hp and 1200+ ft. lbs. :roflmao ...eh hem...not to get off topic....

Can you give a little more info on FKDP??? Never heard of it before...What does it include? Are you talking just programming or something more?

Its a choice of a 4 or 6 postion flip chip by TS perfromance, they have better millage, cooler egts and more power then bully dog and banks. some choices for example are stock programs, a high idle, vallet mode(truck wont go over 70mph) 50hp,75hp,100hp,125hp, and 140hp. A 4postion chip is 360$ and a 6 postion is 410$

This is the info that was sent to me and he is sending me more info later today

Those prices are pretty good and reasonable.

He seems to be a good standup guy and should provide you with some good custom programming.
