Hey guys I am running the banks quick turbo housing and 100hp big hoss chip. I don't have the money to install the intercooler so I am going to down size the chip. I was thinking of 60hp program but banks wants to do 80hp. What do yall think? And also I am running my egt probe after the turbo. How many degrees cooler does it read compared to before the turbo? I only have 115,000 miles on the truck and I plan on keeping it for a long time because I love the truck and I know it will need a rebuild before much longer. Thanks guys.

what is your egts running know?
as far as how much diffence the temp is between pre and post. its something like 400* but could be more when towing up hill or blasting away at a light.

You are not getting 100hp out of the chip you have now. The stock injectors cannot deliver enough fuel to get an extra 100hp. Are you seeing high EGT's or why do you want to downsize? You might look into some different programming if you are heating up. You can deliver all the fuel that the stock injectors will supply without egt trouble if you use the proper programming. Banks does not really cater to the OBS trucks like some of the other chip programmers.

I am just a worry wart. I plan on having this truck for long while to come. I do not want to screw anything up. Like I said my egt probe is after the turbo and while driving at 75mph and about 2100-2200rpms mt egts are reading about 550-600 degrees. The guy that installed my banks stuff said that you can about 100-200 degrees when the egt probe is after the turbo. And also what is the max your egts can reach before starting to worry. The highest it has ever gotten was 1000-1050 degrees when towing about 5000-7000#s. I was just curious about the chip because without the intercooler Banks told me that I should have the 80hp chip. I drive the truck everyday and I do tow from time to time and I am planning on getting ao 5th wheel camper one day.

1000-1050 is fine even post turbo. Someone a while back did some tests and it seems to me that they found a 250-300 degree difference between pre and post. They say 1300 is the time to start backing out so at 1000 plus the 300 you are at 1300 which is fine. Running down the road at 550-600 is fine. If you decide you want a little more power with less heat call Tony(twildman) for a burn that will do the trick.
