Checked out an edge with attitude today

My cousin has an 08 super duty with 9k miles and while it is in the shop for the 6th time, (allready had the cab off twice), he was given an 07 250 to drive. It has an edge programer, looks like 4inch duel's and a BD intake.

Since I am looking into upgrading to a shift on the fly programer, I was interested in just what this thing had to offer. Of course, prior to departing his driveway, I moved from the stock level to the extreme level and here we go.

There is a little area on the way to town where the road dead ends and you turn left up a hill for about a 1/4 of a mile. I use this area to test boost, power ect.

I got to tell you, this thing really took off and the black smoke rolled out both sides, however not even half way up I looked at the display to check the boost level and it was boosting about 26 and then the egt showed up on the screen and was 1295. I got out of the gas in a hurry.

What should I expect with my 2k 7.3 if I should go the edge way. Is the high egt's another glitch in the 6.0. I don't even know what the HP rateing the extreme level is but I do know that my driving style (which I don't plan on changeing) and that particular truck would not be a long lasting relationship.

On the way home, I dropped it down to race and hammered it one more time and the check engine light came on.

oop's, Ive broke another one. I think I will stick with the ole 7.3.

by the way, did I mention that this think really took off. Be hard to handle in a 50 yard dash.

Your best bet is to go with a 6 pos. chip because they are usually programed to get the most out your truck by people who know 7.3s. My friend has the edge evo. and he can barely keep up w/ me.
