what i need to know is how many amps does the truck require for everything not includeing a big stereo system.how many amps is the stock non ambulance alternator( i forgot)?

i would say you are probaly going to need 150 to 170 amp alternator to run everything safely...not 100% sure what the truck requires to run on, depends on power options and i also can`t remember amps on the stock alt...but should be around 80-100 amps....hope this helps....

IIRC the stock alternator puts out 130 amps at 1200 rpms and ??? at idle. THIS one puts out 200 amps at 1200 rpms and 95 at idle . I've had one for six months.

an easy way to "over estimate" what the truck requires is to
look at the fuse box...id look at the rating on the fuses of the
things you use all at once and use that as your MAXIMUM.
