Has anyone done the ccv on their OBS? Antonio and I were looking at mine and noticed the metal part between the two boots is stepped down from one side to the other so the usual piece of straight pipe as replacement will not work. What did you use or did you just plug the hole in the stock piece (if so, with what?)?

Thanks!

on my 02 i used a #10 AN pipe plug sealed in with some poylsulfide oil ressitant sealant.

but i would assume you could use a brass plug with some fuel oil ressitant gasket maker.

it just wont look as nice a piece of ss tubing :D

you plug the hole there for the CCV Mod. When you update out of the orange turbo intake hose you will get a plastic piece for that area as well.

I used an expanding rubber freezeplug after I cut off the piece that sticks into the intake tubing.

is that freeze plug (I'll ask at the store I guess) the same as a well nut?

I have not updated my orange boot. I have only superficially looked it over for cracks and havent seen any but need to look more closely. I have kind of ignored it because I have not had a lot of luck finding the appropriate replacement. So if I do replace it, it comes with a new coupler?

Thanks, if it is easy to simply plug that hole I will do this over the weekend.

Napa or my local one had a freeze plug that I have no clue what the part number is that fit in there had a bolt that went through it that you could tighten up that caused the rubber to expand.

The updated hose is a kit that you'll have to order. I got mine when I won a giveaway from powerstrokeshop.com joat has the # in his parts list.

Guys, there is a replacement for the orange hose instead of buying the up-grade kit from Ford, Intake hoses.com has been making one for a couple of months......however, there site says it's now on backorder....don't know for sure, but it has to beat the ford price and you keep the stock alum. intake instead of the black plastic one in the upgrade....

Jim,

Thats a nice option it falls about $10 short of powerstrokeshop.com's price on the upgrade kit F7TZ-9C681-AA. But I like the cast metal piece better than the plastic gizmo
