Check the bottle for the API rating. It should have an API rating of CF-4/SH or CG-4/SH or higher.

CI-4 is the common rating today with most oils.

Applicable for on and off road heavy duty 4 stroke trucks, gasoline and diesel light trucks and passenger cars where API CI-4, CH-4, CG-4, CF-4, CF or SJ are recommended

So I would assume its alright.

Cheers

do you think its alright to use an oil that was mentioned in another thread chp? i think you had said you buy yours at tractor supply. do you think you are getting robbed of some the quality that any other oil might have (rotella etc.)?

Blackstone labs says I use Excellent long wearing oil and will continue to do so.

Rotella and Delo are amongst the top popular oils due to they are available everywhere as to Travellers is only at Tractor Supply locations which can be far and few in between.

One of my recent lab tests indicated I had 8.5 of 11 on the scale additive left at 5,000 miles. That there is the seller not the name brand IMO;)

The test is only $22 and well worth it.

I have ran Castrol in my truck for the last 200K km (truck has 350K km) and I have had no motor troubles. I change mine every 6,000 km. Some might say thats overkill but at $50 an oil change I'd rather always have clean oil.

I also buy mine at costco!

Awsome. Where abouts in ON are you? I think I will stick with every 6000 KM aswell especially since I plow and tow frequently.

i have been using Valvoline 5w40 synthetic, so far so good. been thinking about trying Rotella 5w40 synthetic, but is also more money. i change my oil every 7500km. probaly would change it every 5000km, if i wasn`t using synthetic....just my 2cents...:D
