if it was/is an old style single tube one, I don't see why not. They're designed to take 400 psi or better...

They new style multi-passage ones, not so much. They're designed to take the pressure, but the swirl they cause may actually restrict the flow of a fluid of that heavy of a viscosity

So what years are we talking about? And can a replacement-new old style be purchased?

As JL said, I'm sure it would work but you also would need the fittings to connect to it (o-ring type or flare). By the time you play around with it, you're better off with a real trans cooler. Also note that A/C condensers are often changed because of compressor failure, so anything bought used (not sure if you were thinking that) could be loaded with shrapnel... not too healthy for a transmission. Just my :2c

i wasn't thinking of used but a very good point there on the shrapnel, i was just thinking for the price( cheaper)- if it could be done, and being larger than a 6.0 cooler would be better, time is free and I'm sure i got material laying around here that i can fab up something " custom":lmao, just trying to save some money with out compromise for safety and longevity,

I found this buried in the garage, its 17" long and 10" wide, do i count the rows of cooling by how many times the tube passes through the middle cuz that would be 16 right?
Next do I add this too the factory one i have or replace the factory one with this,

Add it to the existing and that way you will get that much MORE cooling power. Good find Bears.
