I've got a broken 4407 T.C. in my 96 F250, (front driveshaft came loose at 100km/h. Broke gear shift off and two mounting points on tranny.) and I wondering thinking about putting a 1365 in instead. The reason being is I'm finding it tough to find a used or rebuilt 4407, and they want between $750 and $1100 for a used or rebuilt one. I know the 4407 is tougher, but will the 1365 hold up? I don't do alot of pulling with it.

I looked at a 1365 and it looks like tail shaft is different than mine. I've got the flat flange on the rear output, and the u-bolt style on the front output. Is it possible to change over the read housing to my current one? And will my stock rear driveshaft still work?

Any help is appreciated.
