I knew I had a problem with my rear brakes and took things apart today. I found the right rear caliper had a siezed caliper piston, siezed slider pins and a rotor that is AFU'd really bad. So I have new loaded calipers and rotors coming from NAPA and Car Quest.

My question is this: the mounting bracket that the slider pins are siezed inside of, is that a dealer only item, or can it be bought at an aftermarket parts place?

I've tried looking at Powerstrokeshop.com and directfordparts.com and neither have illustrations that look like the brake setup I have on the rear axle. I deal with parts catalogs all day long, and I never have to deal with anything as screwed up as the parts look-up sites at those two places.

if you bought loaded calipers, you're getting everything including the caliper bridge.

the only difference would be if you bought "friction ready" calipers, then you still need to buy a set of pads.

Right you were!! Thanks!!!

I was afraid I was going to have to get a new mounting bracket/bridge because the slider pins were permanently siezed in place. I tried heat, Blaster and some serious muscle and they just wouldn't budge. I was very relieved to see that you were right and the loaded calipers came with the brackets.

Now the job is done and I have 100% new brakes on the rear axle. That annoying scraping noise is gone. Hopefully, my mileage will improve a bit now that I ain't "dragging a boat anchor" arround all the time.

try owning a truck built right at a model year split...

I know everything I never wanted to know about the Raybestos brake parts catalog....
