Tell ya what, my truck may only be a 2000, you'd think it wouldnt happen, but i had my steel brake line blow out on me this past week, and it happened right between the fuel tank and frame ford musta used some junk line running the length of truck to the rear, i cut all the old out and replaced with new, was about 13 ft of line, if you all dont allready, get under there with a hose once in a while and blow out between the frame and fuel tank, mine was rusty, but only blew out cause there was a pile of leaves and mud caked in there. I've always been a big believer in hosing out the innner bedsides/ bed pockets to keep the truck as rust free as possible, but never thought of hosing out between the frame and tank, lol.
