:dunno b5?? I dont know the differences? or if any would do harm?
why or why not??
thanks guys
ps, I have no interest in making my own fuel just buying it.

Ford says B5 is the maximum bio/petrol blend

my truck really like B20 also..

but what you REALLY need is a bio- refiner that won't go tits up when the soybean prices rise..

Another option you have is to buy B100, then mix as you see fit.

One of the lubrication studies that I think CHPMustang posted indicated that biodiesel, at 2%, was better for lubrication than just about anything else. Obviously, you can't buy B2 at any pump, but you could save some dough by getting B100 and diluting it to B2 as you go.

I've used everything up to B100. All works great for me!

In my book a 6.0 is a 6.0 but something was reconfigured with the 2007 models that interacted with the reformulated ULSD fuel. Now running B5 in the 6.0 should be fine it's just the "2007" year thing that concerns me until there's more valid intel on that particular year.

That's how I do it BUT these days my 5 gal yellow diesel jugs of B99 which are stored out in my shed gel at night. There is an "iceberg" of solidified wax crystals that prevents me from pouring out what I need. So I'm forced to bring a jug inside at night and in the morning it had turned to golden yellow again.

so is b5 better than running regular diesel fuel? even in an 07?

In terms of lubricity...yes. B20 would be fine in an '07 as long as it's QUALITY biodiesel. If it's cold where you are you need to make sure your B20 has some #1 in it. The only thing with running higher than B5 is that IF you have injector problems and Ford pulls a fuel sample.....you will be footing the bill on new injectors no matter what the quality is.

In Minnesota all you can get at the pumps is B2 or B5. Some stations carry B20 or B100 too. I have run 100 for a few tanks but like the 20 or less blend.

i can sort of second what f100 is saying. b2/b5 is all over. 1 coop i know if does carry b20 in summer only due to gelling properties and it is one arms throw of a rock from my fomoco dealer.... i have not used it yet because it is slightly out of the way for me to go fill up and seems to be no where near when i actually do need to fill up.....
