My brain has gone to mush with all this reading. We have a new bio diesel station that just opened. I am looking at maybe running bio diesel in the truck. Is this a good idea? What should I look for and can bio diesel and diesel be mixed? I’m asking because I don’t want to mess up the truck. Info on the truck: 04, PSD

I run B40 up here in canada. Havn't had any problems, but u should not switch back and forth. The reagular diesel blend (clear) actually leaves deposits in your tank, fuel lines and injectors. When u switch to Biodiesel the build-up is removed and can clog filters. Put a few tanks in and switch fuel filters and never look back. Running B40 or B5 doesn't matter as long as B-somethin.
Biodiesel is already a mix. If u have a half tank of B40 then put in clear diesel, its still biodiesel, just maybe more like B10 or B20
I don't have a chip yet and was hoping when i get my SCTX3 that if I data log and send in a file that it will be easy to make up a tune.

he's right..
a switch to a high concentration of Bio is going to scour the inside of your tank & lines
might want to try uh... lemme do the math here... 11 gallons of B40 under a fillup of #2.. gonna give you about 6 gallons of bio in a 28 gallon tank, so you're looking at about B25..

5% bio is about all you need to restore lubricity lost to ULSD

BioD is sole as pure (B100 or B99), or diluted to B20. Blends of B5 and B2 are sold in the north central states as well. What blend is the bioD you can buy?

So go there with 3/4 of a tank and add the B99 until full. That will give you a blend of about B20/B25. Notice the quieter engine and better exhaust odor. Then as you feel comfortable start blending up. It will clean out your fuel system by bringing up the mineral deposits from your tank and lines and will clog your fuel filter, BUT this really only happens when you run it pure B99/B100. Just carry a spare fuel filter and enjoy withholding money from OPEC. ;tu
