need help! my 2003 7.3 is driving me mental!!!!! ever since I bought this truck it has had nothing but issues!!! I`ve had to replace the idm, trans, altenator, hpop, icp.cps, waterpump, rear diff, speed sensor, valve cover harnests, glow plugs(standard procedure),gpcu.power steering line also!! now the cel comes on and it runs like ****! it`s like it`s missing almost but not. I had it scanned today and the mechanic said it was the icp and idm. he said the idm code was probably showing because of the icp! I went and bought one today 365$!! can you say rape! any way I put it in and still runs like ass! however I did notice when I took out the icp I had barely any presure shoot out! the rail should be under pressure! my pump is recently new so could this be my ipr and if so how do I check! I regret selling my 6.0l I had it 3 years problem free!! donno what I was thinking! sorry I`m venting but man the $$$$$ keep adding up! I`m tempted to destroke her and drop a cummins in!!!!

That really sucks man, if it was me i would honestly just give it a good wax job and make it go bye bye. It sounds like its been a major headache. You have more patience than i do i would have set that thing on fire by now! Maybe time to turn the page and start a new chapter with a new truck

yes a bad hpop, IPR or ICP will give ICP errors. ICP errors are simply saying that the pressures are out of the expected range usually on the low side

I would suggest looking at your IPR they are tight clearance pieces if it is not operating right it would allow some of the pressure to bleed off of the HP oil rails leaving you with not quite the pressure you should have but enough for the truck to start and run which IIRC is only around 600 psi or so. The IPR is expensive try cleaning it first simply pull it out and clean it with brake cleaner, when the cleaner evaporates it should rattle if you shake it, that means it's working right and not jammed. the replacement o-ring kit is in the 30-40 range from the international dealer the same part number as the OBS trucks (see the part number sticky in the OBS section).

I just want to chime in , because my truck has a almost miss also. what is the IPR & what dose it do? My truck seems to do this at low boost 1- 4 psi. I have been looking for this for a while.:dunno
