I've always read and heard that trying to get the air out of the fuel system after an injector install is to just beat the crap out of it. Well, I've put about 550 miles on it since the injectors were put in and it still has a rough idle. I've been pushing it really hard a few times. Sometimes it will have a super smooth idle and the next time it will have a rough idle again. My chip is being sent back to get reflashed for the bigger injectors so maybe that has something to do with it? They are split shot stage II's built by RDS.

dunno. drive it like you stole it? did you check your oil to make sure fuel isnt getting in it? loose harness connection? could be tons of things. definetely should be gone by now with 550 miles put on it.

Before you reinstalled the VCs did you watch the injectors to make sure they were all squirting oil out the spouts to make sure they were all working?

How old is the IPR valve?

Being splits on a split truck shouldn't make it idle rough without the chip.

Return fuel system might come with time. All of the injectors were spitting oil. Its an intermittent miss. Sometimes its smooth and the next few times its very rough.

As for the IPR, its original as far as I know. So its 6 years old and has about 199,000 miles on it. Might be worth replacing??

Not sure on the programmer. I know it smells like fuel at idle so its obviously getting too much fuel or something needs to be altered there. Hope its as simple as a reflash of the chip, but for some reason I'm guessing its gonna be something else.

I had that issue too where the truck kinda cuts off for a split second. It feels like a road bump. A couple weeks later, the CPS died completely. Not saying that is your problem but something to look at. Of course, I just did a fuel mod so I thought it was the fuel that was causing it.
