Belt Driven Vibration Poll

As some of you know I'm trying to resolve a harmonic/vibration emanating from the serpentine belt on our 7.3L and come to find out there's many more 7.3L owners with the same symptoms with their Powerstroke trucks,I'll bet there's 6.0L owners with similar symptoms.

My Easter Sunday;

The idler pulley has even wear pattern. Installed a new pulley based on play.
Serpentine Belt 66k miles. Installed new Belt.
Power steering pump clacking.Installed new pwr steering pump,clacking cleared.
CPS replaced for the heck of it(black tip)
Trans fluid flush and install new filter.(fluid/filter had 31k on it)

I'll inspect the tensioner pulleys wear weds morning(have new assembly ready to install)
Installing new Hayden fan clutch weds morning as the stocker has a little more than a 1/4" play at the fan blade end.

i see a lot of vibes coming from an elderly belt/tensioner. ill change the two and the belt will run straight and smooth.

hows the belt tensioner? if the spring is getting weak, it will jump around....have replaced quite a few on gassers....

will be replacing my belt soon so i will checking all my idler pullys and tensioner...i seem to have a harmonic/vibration at times, so i will see when i change the belt, if it is coming from that area....just my 2 cents....

I installed the new belt tensioner this evening,I swear the new one has twice the torque of the stocker

After the new tensioner went on the parade continues as I discovered the stock alternator gave up the ghost when I went to start the engine as it only showed 11.8 volts

Off to Autozone I went to install a new alternator

It's been an adventure lemme tell ya!

I think I have fan belt debri spinning on the left side of my plumbingthigamagiger. A Buddy of mine said his snapped and took out his fan assembly and shroud. He also installed a p.t.o. pump for the wrecker body himself at 1800 miles and the dealer laughed at him when he returned it.Chalk it up to experience.

I wouldn't know what the BTA sounded like anyway.

I installed the new belt tensioner this evening.

Did it make the vibration go away?
