how do i know if i have a bad injector or 2? the reason that i want to know is b/c when my truck gets warmed up it idles slightly rougher than it does when i first start it. also i have added like 1-1 1/2 quarts of oil in it and i changed the oil a little over 1000 miles ago. i don't know exactly how much oil it was though b/c i only buy 1 gallon jugs of oil.

well if i have like a half a tank of diesel and hammer on it i can watch the guage drop, but it goes right back where it was. it doesn't really burn a lot of fuel. i haven't checked my mpg yet. but i'm thinking i'm only gettin' like maybe 15 mpg. i will check when i fill up. right now i'm grounded so i'm not putting much fuel in it at a time b/c i don't really get to drive it.

if you are goin through oil more than usual watch your exhaust for oil type smoke, I'll bet your injector o-rings are goin. Mine started usin oil real fast when mine went. If the o-rings are bad enough it will push oil back into the fuel system, so check your filter bowl for dark or dirty lookin fuel.

just some things to check for

thanks i will check that in the morning. would it cause a drop in power? i never have smoke coming out of the exhaust except for when it's cold then it will blow white smoke. the exhaust smells pretty rich too when it's cold and i fire it up, but it doesn't after it gets warmed up.

Drain some fuel from the bowl into a glass jar. When my injector o-rings failed, I used 8 quarts in 150 miles! The fuel was as black as coal (couldn't see sunlight through it). Cheers!

dang!!! i know i'm not using that much oil. but i'm going to go out and start my truck in a minute, but i'm gonna check the filter bowl. i know that i need to change out the filter, but i will look to see if the fuel is odd colored.
