Auto to Manual change over

i kow this may open a can of worms but.. Has anyone here ever swapped a manual trans for an auto? What all is involved? how much $$ are we lookin at? Im just trying to see if it would be more cost effective to swap to maual or buy a good built auto?

I talked to someone that said they had done it and wasn't that bad to do, but i didnt know if he was just BSin me

I evaluated the same thing and came to the conclusion that for me it was better to do the built auto option.

quick rundown of parts

trans
t-case -trans output is splined different than an auto
flywheel
clutch
slave & master assy
pedal assy
chip program
shifter,
shifter boot
trans x-member
floor pan section or BFH
Driveshaft
Steering column or modify existing one to eliminate shift interlocks

Dollars it all comes out to what kind of deals you can find on pieces and parts and if you want to put a 100k+ transmission in your truck or if you're going to put a freshly rebuilt one in there

And if you have the Coin & Time to even think about a Swap.. Look into a BTS.. and be done with it.
