I also want to hear what others have to say about ATF on the PSD. As a old truck driver I always carried a quart of ATF and a new fuel filter under the right seat. When the filter stopped up and it started losing power I would pull over and take the old one off and fill the new one with ATF. It would also start right up and run great.

I run some from time to time in my old D4 Cat and in my tractors. But I would not put it in a powerstroke. Injectors are too expensive and sensitive on these trucks. It makes the older diesels run a little better. Anyways.. my opinion....

I run vegetable oil in my Cummins... made an offer on a nice '97 Stroker and hopefully it will be running VO soon. I've run ATF in the Cummins. I wouldn't be opposed to doing it in a Powerstroke, but I'd just blend it into one of the two tanks, lets say the rear. Heat up on the front tank, and only run the rear when the engine is hot. With hot fuel rails you won't be squirting ANY thick ATF, shouldn't notice the difference. My $0.02

I would stick to an approved fuel additive like PowerService or Stanadyne, I mean the costs are nearly the same for ATF or a real fuel additive, so why not run the real stuff?

I would agree with 95_stroker. Why use ATF with all of the added stuff in it, like friction modifiers? Stanadyne would be better.

Excellent point! Its not worth the risk. Staynadyne is a excellent additive I would recommend!
