Question Armrest removal

My armrest is starting to crack on the drivers side. Has anyone ever removed one? I thought about swapping the drivers side with the passenger side. They look the same top or bottom. I am thinking I could pull both and swap them around, putting the weathered cracked section from the drivers side on the bottom for the passenger seat. I hope this makes sense!

If its like my 99.5 the arm rest cover just pulls off.

I swapped mine because the drivers side cracked.

i wonder if you could do this with seat covers...my driver side is wearing pretty bad and the passenger side is nearly perfect
