DRILL & TAP...(i ran a band/probe in the down pipe for awhile 1st)...
the manifold is the BEST place for accurate readings and when comparing
to others (when/if you ever have to diagnose problems or performance
issues).

as for who you should buy 'em from... the only question i could come
up w/ is "are they a forum sponsor"

check out DPPI , ITP Diesel, Diesel Site and Diesel Innovations

Ive done biz w/ all those guys, that i mention,...and honestly theyre
ALL great, stand behind what they sell and give more help and
assistance than their profit margins could possibly allow.

$$$ is the key right now, and I'm not too worried about the install of the gauges. I won't spend less money for junk, but cash is key considering I still need to buy a trailer, and dump some $$$ into the Jeep to get it ready for the summer.

$300 is about giong rate for three gauge set up. Installation isn't that bad a friend and I put a set up in the F250 in about 3-4 hours, he's really maticulous.

Bought a used triple pillar pod from a guy who runs a diesel performance shop shipped for $230. He went to the four pod and sent a new pyro probe and a few other new parts but haven't put them in anything yet. The pillar is painted tan and the interior of the F350 and Excursion are both tan...

Monitoring your systems is invaluble if you tow, push, or run hard.

My friend tapped into the driver side manifold and screwed the probe into the hole, this was the hardest part of the entire install.

I bought that kit from DieselManor. I chose the clamp probe. I have had no problems with the gauges. I even had to send one one my originals back, call them on the phone for questions, and they were helpful each time.
My main reason for these were the Isspros look like the factory gauges in the truck. Autometers look aftermarket and I wanted mine to blend in.
